One candidate is the son of of Rofino [Rufino?] Martinez and Manuela de los Reyes of  the city of Agaña [Hagåtña]. This José Martinez  is 28 years old and one of 10 siblings recorded in the 1897 Spanish Census of the Mariana Islands. The census lists his siblings as: Ana, 32; Maria, 31; Joaquin [José's twin brotherJ, 28; Maria, 14; Caridad, 13; Antonia, 12; Josefa, 7; Dolores, 4 and Antonio 3.

The second possible candidate is 50 year old José Martinez married to Edubijes de la Concepcion (44).  According to the same census, this couple have the following children: Antonia 23, Juan 21, Felisa 17, Rosa 11, José 7 and Manuel 3.
