Seaside Purslane
Local names: Chara (Guam); Tarampulit, Karampalit, Dampalit, Bilangbilang (Philippines)
The Chara is a succulent, branching, prostrate, strand plant of wide tropical distribution, sometimes forming mounds on the sandy beach. The entire plant is eaten cooked like spinach. It is rather salty.
